This phenomenon reverberates across all online users, confining us within curated information bubbles despite our initial quest for fresh identities. Its purpose is to showcase that program glitches can also be a creative design element. "Disco Diffusion" is an AI painting program. When provided prompt with ideographic languages, such as Chinese, it generates characters that are semi-meaningful and semi-pictogram. Based on this "glitch," the designer used the Chinese character "竹" (bamboo) as a prompt, generating a pile of works inspired by traditional Chinese Shanshui paintings. She skillfully extracted ideographic elements from these paintings, redesigned them, and blended them with digital fashion, yielding a collection of new Chinese-style garments. The creative process behind this series of works is unique. By collaborating with algorithms, the designer transformed program imperfections into innovative design elements. This project seamlessly intertwines digital art with traditional culture, presenting a marvelous fusion of contemporary design and technology. It concretely portrays the gradual transformation of our identity, revealing how our individual characteristics become entwined and bound by information. This piece embodies the exploration and presentation of the Digital Age, transitioning from intangible digital flows into tangible entities. It showcases the interweaving and evolution of our identities within the information network. Through this sculpture, we can deeply experience how information envelops every aspect of our lives in subtle yet profound ways, prompting a discourse on digital identity. The inception of "Traceable Identity" is not only an examination of our individual identities but also a questioning and exploration of the Digital Age. It unveils the transformations hidden behind codes, exposing the true representation of our digital identities. Within this cycle, where is the distinction between up and down, heaven and earth? Everything follows an endless rhythm of cyclical motion, much like how we encode the real world into digital, and then project the digital back into reality through technology, forming a seamless cyclical system. So, why do we need to deliberately distinguish between what is real and what is virtual? The places where we exist, where we interact and leave memories behind, all hold a sense of reality. "Falling Clouds" enlightens us that reality is not confined solely to the realm of material, but encompasses a world constructed jointly by the mind and thoughts. In our everyday lives, we often play various roles. However, the advent of the digital world allows us to transcend physical confines, giving rise to multiple renditions of ourselves. These avatars, much like our physical forms, become the voices of our thoughts. Through them, we embrace fluid, fragmented identities, no longer confined by boundaries or definitions. Concurrently, we gain the ability to perceive different facets of ourselves from diverse angles, transcending the notion of a single identity. It is in this state of non-wholeness that we authentically encounter ourselves, free from any labels or restraints.
